In our increasingly digital world, how we see and recognize ourselves is being fundamentally transformed. This research stream explores the psychological implications of digital technologies on self-face recognition and identity formation. Using eye-tracking methods and behavioral experiments, I investigate how social media filters, photo editing tools, and digital appearance modification reshape our relationship with our own faces.
A key component involves developing culturally appropriate stimulus databases and examining cross-cultural differences in digital self-presentation. This work has direct implications for understanding appearance satisfaction mechanisms and the psychological effects of our digital interactions with our own image.
